Whether it’s leisurely walking trails on the Ramsau high plateau at 1,100 meters, hiking trails leading to the alpine pastures at 1,700 meters, or the high-alpine long-distance hiking trails in the Dachstein Massif and the Tauern Mountains, Ramsau offers hikes to suit every taste.
Mountainbike
The region’s numerous signposted MTB trails offer everything from half-day tours to 3-day tours (the Dachstein Loop). E-bikes and mountain bikes can be rented at various sports stores.
Der Dachstein
Styria’s highest mountain is one of Austria’s top attractions and a social media sensation. Take the gondola up to 2,700 meters. On a clear day, visitors are treated to a breathtaking panoramic view—from Triglav in the south, across the Großglockner, all the way to the Großvenediger. It’s free with the Summer Card.
Klettersteig - Via Ferrata
The Ramsau via ferrata paradise offers via ferrata routes for children, via ferrata routes ranging from B to E, and the world’s oldest via ferrata on the Hoher Dachstein. Guided via ferrata tours with experienced mountain guides can be booked, and you can even earn a via ferrata certification.
Leisure and Sport
Fat bikes, Ramsau Beach recreational lake with beach volleyball, archery, and a summer toboggan run, forest high ropes course, etc.
The Nordic Performance Center—featuring a treadmill suitable for roller skis, performance diagnostics, sports medicine, training programs with adjustable speed, and a swimming pool—is popular with both professional athletes and recreational sports enthusiasts. Additional sports options include paragliding, an organic golf course, horseback riding, Nordic walking, and running trails.
